Products > Gas systems > U11 Helium Gas Pressure System
Essential Features :
The system includes a pressure generating compressor U11 and a series of various measuring cells made of non-magnetic beryllium copper alloy. The pressure transmitting medium is Helium, which retains hydrostatic properties at high pressure down to relatively low temperatures (see Helium freezing curve). The pressure transfer from the compressor to the measuring cell takes place via a several meters long flexible capillary (single or multi-section). This allows the measuring cell to be placed e.g. in a cryostat or/and in various types of electromagnets, which may remain at a distance from the pressure generating compressor. The cells differ in purpose, dimensions, type of electrical or optical feed-throughs and interior architecture. High pressure in the system is monitored using two pressure sensors: Manganin pressure gauge (MPG10, located in final compression stage) and semiconductor pressure gauge (SPG10, located in measuring cell).
U11 Helium Gas Pressure System allows to: change pressure at low temperatures, obtain any value of in situ pressure while increasing and decreasing it and control the pressure in the system behind the safety shields.
High pressure gas cells :
The Gas Pressure Cells have been designed for applications such as electrical, NMR, SQUID, dilatometric, optical measurements at high pressures and low temperatures (and in magnetic fields). They are mono-block cylinders made from Cu-Be alloy. The gas pressure cells are supplied from gas compressor U11 through a flexible single or multi-section Cu-Be capillary tube 3/0.3 mm.
Electronic measurements :
Temperature [K] | Pressure medium | Pressure measurements | Temperature measurements | Feed-through | Sample holder |
---|---|---|---|---|---|
1…350 | Helium | SPG10 (4 wires) | Cu/Constantan (2 wires) | 12 wires | 3 types |
Type | Working pressure [GPa] | Test pressure [GPa] | ID [mm] | OD [mm] | Cylinder | Material |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
GC10 | 1.0 | 1.3 | 6…12 | 22…46 | Monoblock | CuBe |
GC10 with I.D. 7 mm is the most common gas cell for semiconductor studies.
Sample holders:
Depending on the type of magnet (classical or superconductive) and magnetic field configuration, we offer three types of sample holders. Two of them are suitable for coaxial and perpendicular position of the sample in regards to longitudinal axis of the pressure cell and the third one is universal with exchangeable sample support.
